Licensing & Local Rules

We're Marina-side hosts who take compliance seriously. Rules vary by jurisdiction; here's how we handle them.

Jurisdictions

  • Marina del Rey = unincorporated L.A. County → STR registration + County TOT 12% on stays ≤30 nights. LA County Treasurer
  • Venice / City of L.A. → Home-Sharing (primary residence) with registration; hosts must register and display their Home-Sharing number on listings; standard cap 120 days/year unless extended; City TOT is 14% on stays ≤30 nights. Los Angeles City Planning
  • Santa Monica → un-hosted STRs not permitted; only licensed home-sharing (host on-site). Santa Monica

How we comply

We operate only where both local law and building/lease rules allow hosting. For applicable units we maintain required registrations, collect/remit TOT on direct bookings, post IDs in listings, and follow building/HOA rules (quiet hours, parking, minimum stays).

For City of LA addresses, TOT is administered by the Office of Finance; for unincorporated County, TTC administers STR/TOT.

Some properties sit on County marina ground leases; lease and HOA rules also apply.

Is my address City or County? Use ZIMAS (City of LA) or LA County GIS (unincorporated areas) to confirm jurisdiction before you book or list.
